A more than interesting film about guilt, remorse and injustice is ruined by a convoluted and rushed finale. She holds her feelings to herself, letting them out only in the safe space of her solitude. The line feels like meta-commentary to the audience: If you want a happy ending or even just a satisfying one, you’ll have to look elsewhere. The sets of the jail, the colours in each frame, one can feel the emotions as felt by the characters. How does the system work, and can it be fixed? baffling!!! I will not say anymore on this aspect as it would spoil the film experience. This is brought out beautifully in the dialogues. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
